I am Ali, an experienced tarot reader and magician.
A direct descendent of two different lines of magick, life has been unconventional for my older siblings and I, to say the least.
My paternal grandfather was a popular village healer in his hometown, Hadobandi in Pakistan, and was known for helping older single women get eligible bachelors to be their husbands. I wonder how many children came into existence because of my grandfather’s magick!
My maternal aunts and relatives were practitioners of traditional magick in Melaka and often regaled us with stories about the magick that courses through our bloodline, especially how our strong protection magick has helped the family.
My siblings and I grew up with a variety of abilities. Interestingly, some of our abilities overlap though our individual strengths are unique to us. The most interesting moments of our childhood involved shared experiences that include spirit sightings, identical dreams and even encountering wild animals that were drawn to us.
The stories we could tell can be scary or amazing but we realised they weren’t for the mainstream. We kept our experiences and abilities close to our hearts and pursued conventional paths with our respective jobs and businesses.
Throughout my life, my mother, who’s also my best friend, constantly reminded me to help anyone in any capacity I could. With that in mind, I went on to be an English and Literature teacher for 13 years and along the way, I also taught dance and tutored special needs children.
In recent years, opportunities to share my abilities with more people came up and I took a leap of faith to leave teaching for tarot. I realised relaying what I see and hear into messages and lessons for my clients was turning out to be a different kind of help I could render with my magick.
The path to help in a more spiritual capacity paved itself and here we are today, with a space I call my own and one that I hope feels safe for my clients.
